Before you start

Choose the destination by activity. A viewing wharf, fishing zone, transient-moorage dock and boat ramp are not interchangeable. The individual sections cover every named waterfront destination group, with Middle Arm’s two separately located piers kept visible.

The city requires a Tidal Waters Fishing Licence for fishing from piers, docks, floats or the Lower Fraser River edge. This guide explains local access, not species seasons or catch limits. Use current Fisheries and Oceans Canada rules before angling.

Rules and exceptions

  • Britannia’s heritage dock is not available for public moorage.
  • Imperial Landing moorage is first come, first served with no advance booking. Use designated outside/channel-side spaces; inside moorage needs prior city approval. The fishing zones at both dock ends prohibit moorage.
  • Pay Imperial Landing on arrival with the vessel name or bow licence number. Water service is not provided. Black/grey-water dumping is prohibited and quiet hours are 10 p.m.-7 a.m.
  • McDonald Beach Boat Launch has two ramps, washrooms and picnic tables. It opens sunrise to sunset daily, not 24 hours. Annual permits and daily meter payments are separate options.
  • Additional vehicle/trailer parking at McDonald is limited to five days under the published daily option. Check the precise meter charge before arrival.
  • The city may close docks for maintenance or special events; a named site is not a live opening guarantee.
