Before you start

“Inclusive” does not mean every feature suits every visitor without assistance. The city marks some play elements as possibly needing help, and the routes use different surfaces. Compare the actual features and the person’s needs before choosing a site.

The table and individual sections preserve all seven destinations, not a featured shortlist. Transit numbers are the routes named on the city page. They are not a live journey planner, and bus-stop proximity varies: Middle Arm lists a 12-to 16-minute walk and Terra Nova describes about 23 minutes.

Rules and exceptions

  • Grauer provides a flush entry and transfer platform. Hugh Boyd provides continuous rubber surfacing and a ramp to a raised platform.
  • King George/Cambie includes a separate inclusive waterplay area, with button-activated sprays and a flush rubber surface.
  • Terra Nova’s level routes are gravel, bridges and boardwalks rather than a guarantee of smooth paving throughout.
  • South Arm and Steveston include features the city marks as potentially requiring assistance.
  • The Terra Nova water-play pump is labelled coming soon on the reviewed source. It is not claimed operational here.
  • Park maps identify destinations and recorded access descriptions, not an independently tested accessible route. Waterplay operation must be checked separately.
