Before you start
Read the programme rules before joining the waitlist and select a nearby site. Plots are assigned in request order, but existing gardeners seeking a transfer receive priority during renewal. Keep the email address current, because offers are emailed and lapse after five business days without acceptance.
The complete detailed roster has 17 sites, shown below. Urban Bounty’s homepage separately mentions 18 gardens; that headline difference remains a source gap. This guide does not invent an eighteenth site. Gardening is for personal use, and produce cannot be sold commercially or taken from another member’s plot.

Rules and exceptions
- Only one plot per household. The condition and location are as-is and are not guaranteed.
- Waitlist members on the list longer than two years are asked every two years whether they wish to remain.
- Renewal payment is normally due January 31 unless staff set another date. Existing gardeners must pass the programme reviews to renew. Fees are not refundable.
- Standard 2026 fees are $45 small, $75 medium and $100 large. Garden City’s tub-based plots use $50, $65 and $75 for two, three or four boxes.
- A limited subsidy programme aims to support 5 percent of plots at half-price, with individual approval for two years. Applying is not a guarantee of an award.
- Alexandra and Cook are labelled accessible in the provider roster. Richmond Secondary is seniors only. Do not generalize those conditions to all sites.
