About ejó
ejó is a plant-based, refillable cleaning brand that turns housework into something closer to a spa moment. Our cleaners are vegan, scented with essential oils, and built around a refill-first system that cuts single-use plastic.
We're a founder and woman-led Canadian brand. We're heading into retail this year, and we need someone to help tell our story as we grow.
The Role
We're looking for a creative, self-directed Social Media & Content Lead to own ejó's social presence, short-form video, graphics and email. You'll shape how people see, smell and feel the brand online, in English and ideally in French.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can come up with the idea, shoot it, edit it, post it and tell us what worked. You'll work directly with the founder.
What you'll do
- Run our social strategy: Plan, create, schedule and publish content on Instagram, TikTok and Facebook. Keep a pulse on trends in sustainable living, home care, cleaning content (#CleanTok) and wellness so our content feels current.
- Make reels people actually watch: Concept, film and edit short-form video, like product demos, satisfying before-and-afters, refill rituals, behind-the-scenes and founder content. Some filming happens in person in Vancouver, including in-store demos and events.
- Design on-brand visuals: Produce graphics, carousels and branded materials in Canva and/or Adobe that match ejó's bold look, with a sharp eye for layout and typography.
- Write in our voice: Warm, direct, a little playful, never corporate. Write captions with SEO and discoverability in mind, in English and, ideally, French.
- Build creator partnerships: Find and reach out to influencers and creators who fit ejó, from home and cleaning accounts to eco and parenting voices. Manage campaigns end to end: briefs, product send-outs, timelines, content approvals and results.
- Learn what works: Track how posts, reels and creator campaigns perform and use that to sharpen what we make next.
- Support retail launches: Create content that helps new retail partners and points of sale, and drives shoppers to find us on shelf and online.
What you bring
- 1 to 2 years in social media marketing, ideally for a consumer or DTC brand
- A portfolio of reels, graphics and campaigns you made yourself
- Strong design skills in Canva and/or Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere or similar)
- Confident filming and editing short-form video on a phone or camera
- Working knowledge of SEO and keyword research, plus Instagram, TikTok or Google Analytics
- Excellent writing and proofreading
- Organized and self-directed: you can plan a content calendar and hit it without being chased
Bonus points
- Fluent or strong working French
- A real love for sustainability, low-waste living, natural home care or CPG brands
- Experience creating content for retail partners or in-store demos
- Some experience with email tools (Mailchimp, Klaviyo) or boosting posts on Meta
- Familiarity with Canadian advertising rules for cleaning products (e.g. what you can and can't claim)
Position Details
- Work arrangement: Flexible and mostly remote, with in-person filming in Vancouver. Occasional weekend dates for events or in-store demos
- Location: Based in Metro Vancouver or the Lower Mainland, or able to travel for filming days
- Pay: $20-$25/hour, depending on experience; 10-15 hours per week
- Type: Part-time, permanent
- Perks: Flexible schedule, work from home, ejó products, and a real say in building a brand from the ground up
How to apply
Send your resume and a link to your portfolio (reels, graphics, a campaign you're proud of). Include a 60-90 second video introducing yourself, filmed and edited like you'd post it.
