Each of us cares about someone who will need medicines. That’s why our vision is to repeatedly beat the odds to deliver breakthrough medicines to patients that need them. We pursue truth and scientific rigour and have the courage to work at the edge of the unknown.
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate Research Scientist to join our In Vivo Pharmacology team. Working hands-on in the lab alongside experienced pharmacologists, you’ll help build the foundation of scientific rigour that our programs are built on. You’ll support the preparation and analytical phases of in vivo studies that reveal how our drug candidates behave in relevant biological settings - work that feeds directly into the go/no-go decisions shaping which programs move forward to becoming medicines.
How you might spend your days
- Developing, performing and optimizing assays to analyze samples, including tissue dissociation, flow-cytometry, ELISA, MSD, cell culture, and other molecular biology assays on study samples (e.g., RNA extraction, qPCR or western blotting)
- Supporting scientists in the coordination of external studies conducted by CROs, managing laboratory sample handling (aliquoting and shipping) and core administrative operations, including PO generation and invoice processing
- Maintaining the lab space, ensuring all reagents and specialized equipment are ready for study days
- Generating high-quality, reliable data by maintaining meticulous records in an electronic lab notebook and analyzing results using GraphPad Prism and other specialized software
- Coordinating internal in vivo studies by supporting reagent preparation, aliquoting, sample inventory, and handling
We’d love to hear from you if
- You have an MSc, or a BSc with 2-5 years of experience, preferably in an industry setting, with 2+ years of hands-on experience in relevant bioanalytical assays; experience with animal handling and/or tissue collection is an asset
- You are genuinely curious and thrive in cross-functional teams and a fast-paced environment
- You have a strong understanding of research ethics
- You communicate scientific and technical concepts clearly, with a focus on practical application
- You are able to support project needs and follow up with constructing and implementing solutions
- You enjoy the teamwork that comes with working through complicated biological questions and building data sets that help to predict the success of therapies together

About AbCellera
Creating medicines is the most important work we can do.
We are a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on discovering and developing antibody-based medicines in the areas of endocrinology, women’s health, immunology, and oncology. We have built a platform for advancing antibody drug programs from target to clinic, and we are using it to build our internal pipeline.
Today, our pipeline includes two drug candidates in clinical development, two preclinical development candidates (DCs) in Investigational New Drug (IND)-enabling activities, and more than 20 active discovery programs across multiple modalities and indications.
We believe that when tenacious people share a vision and work together, they can truly have a positive impact. That’s why we hire for character and intelligence, not just for CVs or experience.
We look for people with drive and energy. People we trust. People who need to know their days are being well spent. That their work really matters. In the end, our success will be measured by the impact of our medicines.
