Altis is seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial Senior Account Executive, US Expansion to lead business development efforts as we grow our presence in the United States.
This is a strategic, enterprise-focused role for someone who is energized by building something new. You will be responsible for developing a strong book of business in the US by leveraging Altis’ established Canadian client relationships to identify cross-border opportunities, while simultaneously targeting and acquiring net-new US-based clients.
As an early driver of our US expansion, you will have the opportunity to help shape how we approach the market: identifying priority accounts and opportunities, developing relationships with senior decision-makers, navigating complex enterprise organizations, and creating a sustainable pipeline for long-term growth.
Success in this role requires more than strong sales activity. We are looking for someone who can think strategically about accounts and markets, build credibility with senior stakeholders, uncover opportunities that may not be immediately visible, and persist through long and complex enterprise sales cycles.
The right person is excited by a blank canvas. You enjoy the challenge of opening doors, creating relationships from scratch, and turning early conversations into meaningful commercial partnerships. You bring a growth mindset, operate ethically and consultatively, and are motivated by the opportunity to build a significant business and leave your mark on an important area of growth for Altis.
Responsibilities
- Leverage Altis' existing Canadian client relationships to identify organizations with US operations and create cross-border expansion opportunities.
- Identify, target, and acquire net-new US-based clients, with a particular focus on large and enterprise-level organizations.
- Build a strong, sustainable book of business from the ground up, balancing near-term revenue opportunities with longer-term strategic account development.
- Research and prioritize target organizations, identifying the appropriate stakeholders, decision-makers, business units, and entry points within complex enterprise accounts.
- Develop relationships with senior-level stakeholders and position Altis as a credible, strategic talent partner.
- Navigate complex organizations and longer enterprise sales cycles, building relationships across multiple stakeholders and functions to advance opportunities.
- Develop thoughtful account strategies and tailored approaches for priority prospects rather than relying solely on transactional or high-volume outreach.
- Conduct proactive business development through phone, email, LinkedIn and other platforms, networking events, in-person and virtual meetings, conferences, and other channels.
- Lead sales meetings to understand clients’ business priorities, workforce challenges, organizational structures, and talent needs, translating those insights into relevant staffing and recruitment solutions.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and solutions tailored to prospective clients and senior stakeholders.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to establish Altis as an approved vendor, including navigating procurement processes, vendor agreements, RFPs, and other enterprise requirements.
- Negotiate and close new business while developing relationships that create opportunities for continued account growth.
- Build a strong network within target US markets and industries.
- Maintain disciplined pipeline and account management practices, using CRM tools to track activity, opportunities, relationships, and progress against goals.
- Monitor market activity and share insights on emerging opportunities, client needs, competitive dynamics, and potential areas for further US expansion.
- Partner closely with internal proposals, delivery, and leadership teams to ensure new opportunities can be successfully supported and transitioned into long-term client relationships.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated success in business development, enterprise sales and account management in the staffing industry.
- Experience prospecting into and successfully developing business with large, complex or enterprise-level organizations, including navigating procurement processes, vendor agreements, RFPs, or preferred supplier programs.
- Proven ability to build a book of business and generate new revenue through proactive business development.
- Experience developing relationships with senior-level stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Strong strategic account development skills, including the ability to research organizations, identify entry points, map stakeholders, and develop a plan for penetrating priority accounts.
- Comfort operating in a build environment where processes, relationships, and market presence are still being established.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to conduct consultative conversations about clients’ business challenges and priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence and executive presence to engage senior stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated, resilient, and comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
- Experience selling into the US market and/or developing cross-border Canada-US business (preferred).
- An established network within relevant US markets or enterprise organizations (preferred).
