The Organization
Based in the progressive Guildford area of Surrey, the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board (FVREB) is an association of nearly 5,000 real estate professionals who live and work in the BC communities of North Delta, Surrey, White Rock, Langley, Abbotsford, and Mission. The FVREB marked its 100-year anniversary in 2021.
The FVREB is small enough to be nimble and bold, yet large enough to be able to make a difference. With a long tradition of excellence, our mission is to enable the success of our members by providing tools, education, thought leadership and opportunities to enhance their expertise. As such, our members are publicly valued for their skill, professionalism and contribution to their community.
We are an employer that fosters a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, and connectedness. We demonstrate care, value and support of our people with an emphasis on wellness. We dream big, we imagine the future, and then we make it happen. Because we can.
We invite you to join our team and be a part of our journey.
The IDEAL Candidate
A course ready to launch. A member who needs a hand. An online class about to begin. You enjoy being the person who keeps the details - and the day - on track. You learn quickly, think on your feet, and bring a calm, helpful approach to a busy workload.
As our Professional Development Assistant, you’ll help real estate professionals access learning that supports their work and professional growth. Reporting to the Manager, Professional Development, you’ll provide the administrative support behind professional development courses, registrations, classes, and other PD events. From helping a member register to keeping a session running smoothly, your work will make it easier for busy professionals to focus on their learning.
You bring experience in administration, training support, member service, or another public-facing role. You’re just as comfortable helping someone navigate a system as you are checking records for accuracy. You follow through, exercise sound judgment, and know when to ask for support. Colleagues can count on your teamwork, accountability, and integrity.
What You’ll Do
- Help learning opportunities take shape. Set up and publish approved courses in the Learning Management System (LMS), checking the details and testing registration so members can book with confidence.
- Be a helpful first point of contact. Guide members through registrations, cancellations, transfers, waitlists, course access, and learning requirements; arrange payment links and process refunds.
- Keep classes running smoothly. Coordinate instructor reminders, invitations, resources, attendance, and check-in. Moderate online sessions, manage breakout rooms, and help resolve basic technical issues.
- Make the in-person experience welcoming. Support New Member Orientation, courses, conferences, symposiums, trade shows, and other PS sponsored member events - from resources and catering to setup, teardown, and on-site assistance.
- Bring accuracy to the details that matter. Maintain learning and compliance records, enter self-directed and non-association learning, check licensing status, and share updates with the appropriate departments.
- Keep the team informed. Update departmental dashboards daily, monitor course completion and member learning activity, and send post-session surveys to support consistent program delivery.
What’s in It for You:
- A competitive Total Rewards package that includes employer-paid “top tier” group health benefits.
- A 35-hour workweek in support of work life flexibility.
- Exceptional paid time off that includes 3 weeks vacation to start, 13 stats & holiday observances, plus various discretionary leaves to help you manage all that life throws at you.
- Our own free-standing building with modernization plans in the works, and FREE on-site parking, close to shopping and green space.
- A great values-driven and fun team with a renewed focus on continuous improvement, employee/member experience, self-actualization and MORE. Yes, you can make a difference here!
What You’ll Need:
- A relevant post-secondary degree or diploma, or an equivalent combination of training and relevant work experience.
- At least three years of experience in administrative support, course or training administration, member management, member service, or a public-facing role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to proofread correspondence, course listings, and instructions and explain processes clearly.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail, including accurate data entry, record maintenance, and routine transaction processing. You can spot discrepancies and refer exceptions for resolution.
- The ability to learn systems and procedures quickly, balance a high-volume workload, and use sound judgment when priorities change or unexpected issues arise.
- Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and confidence learning new software. Experience with an LMS, Zoom or similar virtual-classroom tools, online registration and payment systems, and Microsoft survey tools is an asset.
- Strong problem-solving and customer-service skills, a focus on results, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively while building internal relationships and external partnerships.
