We're partnering with a growing Physical AI company developing intelligent hardware and software systems deployed in real-world industrial environments.
They're building out a dedicated Platform Engineering team responsible for the software foundation that powers Linux based devices from initial provisioning through deployment, operation, and long-term support in the field.
This role is a combination of software, Linux systems, hardware integration and deployment engineering. You'll work on the platform capabilities that enable devices to be provisioned, commissioned, configured, deployed, monitored, updated and maintained throughout their lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Develop software, services, and tooling supporting Linux based devices and distributed systems
- Build and maintain capabilities related to provisioning, commissioning, system configuration, software deployment, updates, diagnostics, and lifecycle management
- Develop automation that improves deployment, reliability, observability, and operational efficiency across deployed systems
- Integrate and troubleshoot hardware, sensors, cameras, networking equipment, and peripheral devices within Linux environments
- Work closely with software, systems, robotics, and hardware engineers to support end-to-end product functionality
- Investigate and resolve issues spanning software, operating systems, networking, deployment infrastructure, and hardware-integrated systems
- Contribute to platform architecture and help define long-term technical direction
Requirements
- 4+ years of software development experience using Python and C++
- Strong Linux systems experience, including debugging, configuration, and deployment of Linux-based platforms
- Experience with Docker and containerized applications
- Experience troubleshooting complex systems that span software, networking, operating systems, and hardware
- Exposure to hardware-integrated products through embedded Linux, robotics, industrial automation or similar domains including deployment, commissioning or field support activities
- Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable operating across multiple technical domains and adapting to changing priorities in a fast-moving engineering environment
Nice to Have
- Embedded Linux development experience
- Experience with Ubuntu provisioning, cloud-init, device imaging, commissioning workflows, fleet management, OTA updates or software deployment systems
- Experience integrating cameras, sensors, industrial PCs, networking equipment, or edge devices
- Experience supporting products from development through deployment and field operation
- Experience working with robotics, machine vision, autonomous systems, or industrial automation products
