Original job description

Casual/On-Call | Flexible Schedule | Living Wage Rate: $27.85

Are you a cleaning professional who is looking for more meaning in your work?

PARC Retirement Living is an award-winning developer and operator of independent senior-living communities. We’re seeking a Housekeeper to join our Westerleigh PARC team in West Vancouver.

About working at PARC

PARC communities are made for active seniors; inspiring spaces where our residents come to live well and engage with a vibrant community of like-minded people. Each of our residences is purpose-designed to give residents the freedom to live independently, nurturing their physical and mental well-being.

As a PARC Housekeeper, you are a caretaker of this vision – responsible for cleaning resident suites and common areas to create a safe, tidy and pleasant environment for residents. This includes:

Cleaning and sanitizing suites, bathrooms, kitchens, floors and common areas according to a pre-set schedule.
Performing laundry services for residents as needed.
Identifying, reporting and logging potential maintenance issues to management.
Maintaining the housekeeping room, equipment and carts in safe and sanitary condition.
Replenishing housekeeping carts and managing cleaning chemicals safely.

The perks of PARC Hospitality

Meaningful work. How many hospitality jobs can say that? At PARC, you’ll be making a positive difference in seniors’ lives, each and every day.
A true living wage. PARC is a Living Wage Certified Employer!
Refreshments while you work. PARC’s chef-prepared cuisine rivals the best in BC, and we offer subsidized daily meals and beverages to employees.
Flexible hours and location. We’re open to scheduling when and where it works for you – with guaranteed shifts every week. PARC has five great locations across the Lower Mainland.
A supportive, diverse team and training opportunities. We believe in giving our people opportunities to advance wherever we can.

It takes a special kind of person to work here – does this sound like you?

You’re an upbeat, cooperative team member who brings positive energy to all you do.
You have at least two years of similar experience in the hospitality or senior-living industry.
You have completed Grade 10 high school education or equivalent, along with the WHMIS program, and you are able to read, write and effectively communicate in English.
You pride yourself on excellent attention to detail and work to the highest cleaning standards.
You’re able to self-direct and work effectively with minimal supervision.
You understand and respect the needs of seniors, their families, and and other professional services engaged with our residents.

At PARC Retirement Living we require a Criminal Record Check, and a TB test within the first month of employment.
