About the Role
Punt is entering a new phase of growth, adding new products and business lines - including exposure to prediction markets and/or crypto-based transactions. This growth brings new money flows, new systems, and new fraud risks to manage.
We are looking for a Fraud Prevention Manager to lead our Fraud Prevention, Compliance and Chargeback Dispute team within the Payments, Fraud Prevention and Compliance department, based in our Vancouver head office. This role is responsible for the people, processes, and performance of the team - ensuring strong fraud detection, efficient chargeback resolution, and safe, scalable growth as the company expands into new and higher-risk product areas.
The Manager leads and develops a team of Fraud Prevention Analysts and Chargeback Dispute Analysts, sets team strategy and standards, and acts as the primary point of accountability for fraud loss outcomes and dispute resolution performance. This role requires strong knowledge of payment fraud fundamentals, plus familiarity with the unique risk patterns of prediction markets / futures and/or cryptocurrency, as these will be increasingly relevant to the company’s risk landscape.
What You’ll Do
Manage and develop a team of Fraud Prevention Analysts and Chargeback Dispute Analysts, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance management.
Set the strategic direction for fraud prevention and chargeback operations, aligned with company growth and new product launches.
Own fraud loss and chargeback metrics; report regularly on performance, trends, and risk exposure to leadership.
Design, approve, and oversee fraud detection rules, models, and escalation workflows.
Guide the team’s approach to disputes, representment, and chargeback reduction strategies across card and alternative payment methods.
Lead the company’s fraud risk strategy for new and emerging product lines, including prediction markets and/or crypto-based transactions.
Partner closely with Payments, Product, Engineering, Compliance, Legal, and Customer Support to embed fraud controls into new features and products before launch.
Monitor regulatory and industry developments relevant to payment fraud, chargebacks, and crypto/prediction market risk.
Build and maintain fraud KPI dashboards and present insights to senior leadership.
Own policy and SOP documentation for the fraud and chargeback function.
Drive process improvements to reduce false positives, fraud losses, and chargeback costs.
Act as the primary escalation point for complex fraud or dispute cases.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
6+ years of experience in fraud prevention, risk management, or payment operations, including direct experience with chargebacks and dispute resolution in North America.
2+ years of experience managing or leading a team, with a track record of developing analysts and driving team performance.
Knowledge of prediction markets and/or cryptocurrency, including associated fraud typologies and risk patterns.
Strong understanding of electronic payments, card networks, and chargeback/dispute processes.

Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to operate independently and set team direction.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate data and risk insights into clear strategy for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.

Must be able to work on-site at our Vancouver office.
Legally entitled to work in Canada.
