I’m Kushank, the creator behind DigitalSamaritan and PracticalyAI (1M+ followers) I build and test AI tools, explore what technology can actually accomplish, and turn those experiments into videos.
I’m looking for a creative partner who can help develop the ideas, figure out how to show them on camera, and shoot the videos with me.
The goal is simple: make people understand something by watching it happen. Basically show not tell!
That could mean turning an abstract concept into a physical demonstration, designing an experiment with a surprising outcome, or following a real build through the obstacles and eventual result. The videos should have a strong premise, a reason to keep watching, and a payoff that earns the viewer’s attention.
What you’ll own
- Creative development: Bring original ideas and develop mine into filmable concepts with strong hooks, visual storytelling, and clear stakes.
- Pre-production: Create concise treatments, storyboards or shot lists. Help organize props, locations, and additional production support when needed.
- Direction and filming: Direct me on camera and handle camera, lighting, and sound for smaller shoots.
- Creative direction through the edit: Give our existing editor a clear brief, including story structure, key moments, references, and pacing. Review cuts and provide actionable feedback.
You won’t need to handle the editing yourself. We already have an editor. You will stay involved through the finished video to make sure the creative vision comes through.
You could be a great fit if you…
- Have examples of videos you helped conceive and personally filmed.
- Think in scenes, actions, demonstrations, and reveals.
- Understand how to create curiosity and deliver a satisfying payoff.
- Are comfortable directing an on-camera creator and offering a stronger approach when an idea needs work.
- Can make resourceful production choices and know when a concept needs extra crew or specialist help.
- Enjoy experimenting and adapting when a real-world test doesn’t go as planned.
- Are based in Vancouver or nearby and available for in-person shoots.
Experience with creator-led content, short-form video, YouTube, branded entertainment, or documentary storytelling would be valuable. Curiosity about AI and technology matters; deep technical expertise isn’t required.
How we’ll start
We’ll begin with a paid pilot project: develop a concept together, plan and shoot it, then guide our editor through the finished video. If we work well together, the aim is an ongoing collaboration.
To apply
Send:
- Three relevant videos, with a short explanation of what you personally conceived, directed, and filmed.
- A few sentences about why this kind of work interests you.
- Your location, availability, and project or day rates.
- I’m especially interested in seeing work where the action on screen does the explaining.
