Codix Management Ltd. is an accounting and financial management company with offices in the heart of Yaletown, Vancouver. Codix provides accurate, timely financial reporting, management and administration services, and trusted business advice to private and public companies in North America, combining modern technology with analytical depth. Among the businesses we support is You Move Me, a growing network of moving companies across the United States, including a group of corporately owned locations whose books are kept right here in our Vancouver office.
This is where you come in
We are looking for a proactive, resourceful Corporate Accountant to own the full accounting cycle for 8+ corporately owned You Move Me moving locations in the USA. You will work from our Vancouver office alongside the CFO, Director of Finance, Corporate Administrator and the rest of the finance team. This is a hands-on role: you will keep the books clean, close the month on time, and deliver reports that operators and executives actually use to run the business.
About you
You want a fast-paced environment with diverse work and a role that offers real growth and learning. You are detail-oriented, thrive on running efficient processes, and take deadlines seriously – month end is a commitment, not a suggestion. You enjoy working as part of a team but can put your head down and get the job done. You are curious about technology and not afraid to use the latest tools – including AI assistants, NetSuite, QuickBooks and automation – to work smarter, and you are the kind of person who recommends a better process rather than repeating a slow one. Above all, you take pride in accurate numbers and in looking "beyond the numbers" to understand what they mean for the business.
What you’ll do
- Provide full-cycle accounting under IFRS for 8+ corporately owned You Move Me locations in the United States (multi-entity, multi-location).
- Enter and code all vendor invoices and expenses; manage accounts payable and vendor payment runs.
- Post payroll journal entries and standard month-end entries (accruals, prepaids, depreciation, intercompany, allocations).
- Reconcile all books – bank, credit card and merchant processing accounts, payroll, intercompany, revenue to the operating system, and all balance sheet accounts – every month.
- Close the month on schedule and deliver location-level and consolidated month-end reports and variance analysis on time, every time.
- Prepare monthly financial statements of the subsidiaries and support group consolidation reporting.
- Maintain accurate corporate records, supporting schedules and working papers.
- Support the annual audit and respond to auditor requests promptly and completely.
- Assist with US sales tax filings and provide support for US annual corporate tax filings.
- Use NetSuite, QuickBooks, AI tools and automation to streamline recurring entries, reconciliations and reporting – and proactively identify further process improvements.
- Research, analyze and help implement new accounting standards or changes to compliance requirements.
- Other related tasks as assigned by the CFO or Director of Finance.
What you will bring to the table
- 2–4 years of full-cycle accounting experience, including reconciliations, intercompany transactions, consolidations and foreign currency translation.
- Proven track record of closing the books and delivering month-end reports on deadline, ideally across multiple entities or locations.
- Working knowledge of IFRS; experience with financial statement preparation and the ability to analyze and comment on results.
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite and/or QuickBooks; strong Excel skills. Experience with multi-subsidiary (OneWorld) environments is a plus.
- Genuine interest in technology – comfortable adopting AI tools, integrations and automation in day-to-day accounting work, and willing to keep learning.
- An AI certificate (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) or prior work experience using AI tools is a strong asset.
- Experience accounting for US companies (US payroll, sales tax, multi-state operations) is a plus; experience in a franchise, moving, logistics or multi-location service business is a bonus.
- Accounting designation (CPA) or active progress toward one is an asset.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, in person and on video calls with US-based location managers.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada and able to work from our Vancouver office.
Why Codix
- A growing, technology-forward finance team where your ideas for better processes are welcome and implemented.
- Exposure to multi-entity, cross-border (Canada/US) accounting and a publicly listed group.
- Hands-on learning with NetSuite, AI tools and modern accounting automation.
- Central Yaletown office location.
