Company Description
Artin Stone is a Vancouver-based custom stone fabrication company specializing in custom stone design, precision fabrication, and installation for high-end residential and commercial projects.
Established in 2017, we create custom kitchen countertops, bathroom vanities, fireplaces, feature walls, staircases, custom stone furniture, and architectural stone applications.
Our fabrication shop is equipped with modern CNC machinery, bridge saws, and specialized stone-processing equipment. We work with marble, granite, quartzite, onyx, quartz, porcelain, and other natural and engineered stones.
Job Description
We are looking for a CNC & Bridge Saw Operator or Trainee to join our fabrication team.
No previous CNC or bridge saw experience? We are willing to train the right candidate!
We welcome experienced operators as well as motivated individuals with basic computer knowledge, mechanical aptitude, and an interest in learning CNC programming and stone fabrication.
For candidates without previous experience, we offer paid, hands-on training during the first month.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines and bridge saws.
- Learn and use computer-based machine controls and basic CNC programming.
- Read and interpret CNC commands, cutting programs, and technical drawings.
- Cut and process stone slabs according to shop drawings and specifications.
- Perform straight cuts, angled cuts, sink cutouts, and custom-shaped cuts.
- Learn appropriate cutting techniques for different stone materials.
- Assist with loading, positioning, and securing stone slabs.
- Maintain cutting accuracy and high-quality fabrication standards.
- Perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Follow all workshop safety procedures.
- Work with the fabrication team to complete projects efficiently.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Basic computer skills are required, including the ability to navigate software, manage digital files, and work with computer-based controls.
- Basic understanding of coding concepts, computer commands, or programming logic.
- Willingness and ability to learn CNC programming and machine operation.
- Familiarity with G-code, CAD/CAM, or CNC software is an asset.
- No previous CNC or bridge saw experience required for trainee applicants.
- Previous experience in stone fabrication or manufacturing is an advantage.
- Basic mathematical skills and understanding of measurements.
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Reliable, punctual, motivated, and willing to learn.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in a fabrication workshop.

Compensation & Training
For Candidates Without Previous Experience:
- First Month: Starting wage of CAD $19.00 per hour as a General Labourer / Trainee, including paid practical training.
- Starting from the Second Month: Hourly wage will be increased based on the employee’s demonstrated skills, learning progress, and performance. The new hourly rate will be determined through mutual agreement between the employee and Artin Stone.
- Further wage increases and advancement opportunities will depend on the employee’s ability to operate machinery independently and meet production standards.
For Experienced CNC & Bridge Saw Operators:
- Competitive hourly wages based on experience, technical skills, and demonstrated capabilities, within the advertised pay range.
Expected hourly wage range: CAD $19.00–$ maximum agreed rate
